Fair allocation of overtime shifts and extra duty assignments is a common requirement in public safety organizations. The ISE Overtime & Extra Duty module manages these important functions by integrating the allocation process directly into the working schedule. Employees are ordered according to organizational business rules, such as putting employees with less overtime and more seniority ahead of those with more overtime and less seniority.
Real Management Capability
Managing the allocation process involves two critical elements: determining the fair order in which to grant or require an employee to work the extra time, and maintaining a detailed record of each employee’s turn at accepting or refusing an allocation offer. ISE incorporates these elements with a design that provides ease-of-use and allows for historical tracking of allocation offers for auditing purposes.
Unlimited Paperless Allocation Lists
You can create and maintain an unlimited number of allocation lists with employees being able to participate in any or all lists. Each list specifies whether the employee acceptance of an overtime or extra duty offer is voluntary or mandatory, and how the employee’s work history factors into the allocation ordering. This means that no extra paperwork is required to keep the lists accurate and timely.
Employee Self-Service Sign Up
Employees can sign themselves up for voluntary extra duty by date, time period, and preference. The sign up process is integrated with the Employee Self-Service module to eliminate paperwork and administration overhead.
Notifications Integration
The ISE Notifications module integrates perfectly with Overtime Management. Employees are automatically called in strict list order and all details relating to contacting the employee such as number of retries and responses given are logged for future analysis if needed. This frees up valuable operations personnel time from the routine of manual calling.
Ease of Administration
Some of the great administration features include the ability to adjust the employee’s tracked work history for corrections and initial system startup, and having multiple reports available to perform detailed historical analysis of employee turn processing.
